What to ExpectThe first thing that you will notice is that we are informal. Dress is casual and varied - dresses, jeans, shorts (comfort is the rule). Ties are a rarity. We begin our service at 11:15 and for about ½ hour we sing, pray and read from the Bible. Songs are choruses, hymns (yes, we still use song books) and contemporary worship songs. We utilize a piano, keyboard and recorder. The "worship team" is everyone present who comes to praise the Lord. Our pastor or church leader then teaches from the Bible for about 40 minutes, usually closing with a song. We conclude our service at approximately 12:30. Once a month, on the first Sunday, we celebrate communion. We do not "pass the hat" and take an offering but we do have an offering box at the back of the church if the Lord lays it on your heart to make one. Stick around after the service and get to know the friendly people at the beach. You'll find that we are just like you! Our goal is to learn more about Jesus and how He relates to our lives. |
